Diverse interface requests
Hey everyone !
Here is a summary of diverse requests I had for the past year playing with the wonderful arp, and that would make it even more wonderful. Some of them have already been requested by others.
Main need : After changing the value with an encoder (macro or main), clicking the encoder knob to get back to your first loaded value
Main need : Allowing to choose to assign different destinations to macroknobs within each patch, instead of just general assignations (EG. macroknob1 destination set to pitch in Bank1 pat1 and to steps in Bank1 pat2)
Main need : Naming patches and displaying their name when selected (for instance at the bottom left of the screen before the Bank and patch numbers, or instead of the "Arp settings" title on the screen)
Main need : Adding the possibility to have alternative chords and scales related and locked to a specific patch. More specifically : using alternative chords/scales assignation on a chord type button that varies from a patch to another (eg. i need Bank1 pat1 sus4 button to act as sus4, and Bank2 pat2 sus4 button to act as a mixolydian, for instance). That would make the episodic integrations of alternative chords/scales super easier, while mostly keeping the main and printed chord types for most of the patches.
Bonus spoiled kid need : Adding the possibility to start a patch on a specific root note and chord/scale. In a live set-up, one patch could then be used for a song, and when switching to a different patch/song (for instance with a program change incoming CC message), the good chords and tonality would automatically be properly set
Bonus spoiled kid need : Scale degrees mode. Offering an alternative to chord/scales and root note selection, within you only set a general scale and root note in the menu, and then use the 1-12 pianoroll buttons to choose the degrees of the scale I-II-III-IV, etc.
Different features that i know are already on the roadmap, but that would be highly useful : note sync shadow mode, note and octave layers, adding the possibility to assign macro encoders knobs to act as a pitch wheel
Here is my contribution :)
Thank you very much for the continuously evolving interface, and cant wait for V9 :)
