Midicake was started in 2020, primarily to design and build Midicake ARP.

"Our goal is to enable performers and producers to add complex and repeatable layers to compositions with minimal real-time input.  To that end, we created a midi sequence generator that synchronizes with other sequencers and tracks with changes as the performance evolves."
