Hi,
I'm attempting to update my Midicake to the latest firmware, but Windows doesn't recognise the device. I've connected the Midicake to my Windows 10 PC using the USB Midi port.
Windows tells me the device is not recognised, checking device manager I see status of "Unknown USB Device (Device descriptor Request Failed).
Any suggestions? Is there a driver needed?
I did try going ahead with the update anyway (downloaded firmware, teensy, followed instructions on the site) but nothing happens when pushing the update button on the back of the Midicake.
I'm sorry to hear that. There is no driver required. It sounds like an issue with the micro controller. I can send you a replacement controller that should fix the issue. It's an easy job to replace it.
I take it you haven't connected ARP to a DAW?
What version of Windows are you using?
Is ARP still working OK on the old firmware?
Let me know and I will arrange the replacement if you are happy to change it.
Thanks
Chris
