For the second time this year, all the patches I had tweaked and saved were completely lost and completely reset to default. Is there any way to get them back or keep this from happening again?!
Turned on Arp as normal, or maybe tapped the load button. Either way, the patch menu was the initial screen. Just selected option 1., thinking that would only be relevant to the currently selected bank/pattern. Unfortunately all customization across all banks was gone. All patterns, midi assignments, everything was reset. I would like to use the diagnostic tool, thanks.
So, to confirm, when you turned ARP on, the Patch Reset menu was the initial screen?
Hmm, I wonder if, perhaps, you have a fault with the memory chip on your ARP. If this is the case I will happily replace your ARP or send you replacement components.
First though, I will set up the diagnostics tool and send you the details.
I'm sorry to hear you've lost your patches. That isn't good at all!
Obviously, performing a full reset will do it but that is expected behaviour.
I'd need a bit more information to be able to track down the cause if there is a bug. Would you mind answering the questions below?
Do you recall what steps you took before the patches were lost?
Did the patches disappear during a session or only when you turned ARP on?
Had you saved patches across all banks?
Had you used the patch reset menu at all?
Have the global menu setting, macro assignments, custom chords, patterns, bounces, cc assignments also been lost?
What firmware version are you using? Hold stop to view the version number.
There is a diagnostics tool you can connect to that will extract the memory data that might also help me track the cause. If you are willing to try it, I'll send you details.
I've not had any other reports of lost patches since the very first beta test.
There is a mechanism for handling the patch data addresses and I'm thinking that the problem is likely in this area but the Memory data will prove this out.
Let me know on the questions and we'll dig into it, try to figure out the cause and work out a solution.
Thanks,
vers. 5.7.4825
This also happened with an earlier version
