So I can copy over a patch to a new location say 1 -> 2 within the same bank. How do I change the key of the 2nd patch and retain the key of the 1st patch. E.g. Patch 1 is C Min and Patch 2 is F Min?
You can copy patches by pressing Copy and pressing the note button you want to assign the new patch to.However, both patches will share the same key. This is because, fundamentally, ARP only ever has one global chord/scale set. The patches are completely independent of the key. This is the way ARP was designed to behave. However, there are some ways to achieve what you are looking to do.You can Note Lock and Scale Lock specific tracks. Under the Note parameter. This will then lock the chord for a particular track and ignore the global scale. You can also use Note Offset to shift the root note of a track, relative to the current global chord/scale.When building tracks it's best to think of patches as the building blocks for the sequence (SET Mode) and the the global chord (PLAY Mode) as the key. You can mix and match any sequence with any key, on the fly, to explore, compose and perform. If you want to automate the key changes, you can use the Chord Chain feature or an external chord sequencer. We are working on a big upgrade to the Chord Chain in the next firmware update. I hope that information helps.
