Another probably silly pair of questions here, but is there:
A) a way to limit a given arp to only octaves regardless of the number of notes in the current chord?
B) a way to limit the maximum octave a given arp hits?
Example:
I wish Arp 1 to play a (single) octave ostenato bass line of the current root, regardless of whether I play one, two, three, or more notes in the current chord. It needs to follow/track bounce and rhythm for a varied rhythmic / octave pulse.
I wish Arp 2 to play an ascending arpeggio of the current chord, BUT if I only play one or two notes (live playing) I don't want it to go running off screeching into the atmosphere.
Problem:
With Arp 1, if I set Jump to any value to try to hit the octave, that value needs to change based on the number of keys played. If I set it to only a length of 1, it never goes up an octave and bounce doesn't let it set the pattern of the octave pulse.
With Arp 2, if I play fewer than three notes, it jumps up too many octaves and ruins the effect. Setting up/down or up/down/up helps a little, but that's not the pattern I want. I'd either want it to a) clip on hitting some max octave up or b) bounce back down (/up) ONLY if it hits the octave limit.
Any ideas / advice is welcome, thank you!
@Salubrious In case you missed the latest firmware update video. The new Pitch Filter parameter might be of interest to you. https://youtu.be/AOgN6nW9bVA
Take a look at Octave Lock (press octave param button twice) to prevent sequences going outside their defined Octave when you play notes on different Octaves. Also, the Note Limit parameter can be used to limit the range of the notes played on that arp in semitones. (Press the note parameter button 3 times). When the sequence hits the note limit it will bounce around the within the limit range. I think this is what you need.
